Armagh Observatory
An observatory in Armagh, Northern Ireland, founded in 1790. The observatory and its associated planetarium, which opened in 1968, are now government funded as an educational establishment and there are no research instruments. The observatory is noted for the compilation there of the New General Catalogue of Nebulae and Clusters of Stars (NGC) by J. L. E. Dreyer, Director from 1882 to 1916.
